In 1999, we got so many fun and adventurous movies that ranged from THE MUMMY, LAKE PLACID and THE MATRIX. We also got a movie from one of the special effects masters from JURASSIC PARK and the writer of ANACONDA called KOMODO, about giant Komodo Dragons wrecking havoc on a small remote island off the coast of the Carolinas. With some great visual and special effects, this movie seems to have been long forgotten. Join us along with Steve Coates, host of the sharkploitation podcast Bucket of Chum, as we dissect this now 25 year old creature feature and try to determine if it deserves its forgotten status or if it should be amongst the must watches from the magical year that was 1999. Lets slice into it! #MovieReview #DissectThatFilm #komodo #1999
We're here to celebrate one of the best streaming services around, TUBI! This month we add to our Reptile Month by looking at another Jim Wynorski movie, CURSE OF THE KOMODO.
GIVE ME BACK MY ACTION/HORROR MOVIES
After the Deep Star Six debacle, Charlie employed Steve from the Bucket of Chum Podcast as the naughty-cal ringer and there was no way in hell was Nate going to blow bubbles at Leviathan without a net. Leviathan doesn't hide the fact that it's catfishing movies like Alien and The Thing and thankfully it's executed well enough to mount on your wall. While the film won't leave you gasping for air, it certainly lands in all the right places. It's nothing short of a great conversation even if Nate throws shade at Sigourney Weaver for the halibut.
B-ACTION: Hands of Steel (1986)
